It is hard to believe that there are 195 countries on this wonderful planet of ours, and the average U.S. citizen will only visit 2% of those. Do you ever daydream about what those countries may be like, what their people are like, what they do for a living and so forth? Or how would you like to put a piece of global decor in your home from those places? Well, I have the perfect place to find all those affordable pieces 🙂
Well, I can’t believe another year is gone and we are going into a fresh new year. I love reflecting back on the year to think about what I have learned, what I would have done differently, what I wish I accomplished, and what I experienced. This past year was big for me and I learned a lot about myself professionally and personally. Let’s reflect on 2017…….
They are taking over the world one project at a time. Everyone fell in love with them from their famous TV show and now everyone is able to buy a little bit of their style. They create trends that we love, and show us how to achieve them. We are loving their new product line that they just launched at Target, Hearth and Hand with Magnolia.
Temperature, comfort food, and amazing candles……some would think I like Fall. It does include my favorite holiday, my birthday, and our wedding anniversary…so it’s basically my favorite season. I also love all the decorations. I am not big on Halloween decorations, but I love pumpkins 🙂 I invested in many mercury glass pumpkins from HomeGoods two years ago to play a roll in our wedding decorations, but see how I use them every year…..
The day is here! Target’s Project 62 is a new home line that you are going to love. Modern day inspired living essentials is based on the year Modernist design hit it’s peak and the year Target was born, 1962. You can buy the items in-store or online, but you better be quick…they will sell out really fast!
It’s hard to believe that summer is more than halfway over. July was a slow month for me at work and it was a hot month for Kentucky, which means one of our AC units went out, but I am looking forward to August. I get to go to Austin, TX for the first time ever, have some weddings to attend, and planning some fun projects! Let’s recap on July and see what we loved on Pinterest!
A queen size bed seemed sufficient in the beginning, but when you add two adults and one dog, it seemed to shrink. Our master bedroom refresh started a few months ago when my husband’s chiropractor told him we needed a new mattress (thanks, Mark) due to his back pain (he was so excited). My husband has been talking about getting a king mattress for a while now and this was his chance, but secretly this was my chance to redecorate. As trends change my eye wanders to new things, things that make me step out of my traditional style or comfort zone. I originally ordered a french upholstered headboard, which was delivered broken. This was my saving grace. After staring at the headboard for a few weeks before our replacement was due to be delivered, I got sick of it. I kept shopping and ended up with a mid-century bedroom.
The best holiday weekends are the ones that occur during the summer because everyone enjoys an extra day to lay by the pool, cookout, and hang out with friends! The worst thing about summer holidays is the cheesy decor. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween decorations have it going on, but July 4th decor could use some serious help. Also, who wants to spend a ton of money on decor for only one weekend?
I normally don’t take Lily (our fur baby) on a walk when it is dark outside, but yesterday was an exception. As we were walking down the street, many lights were on as people were winding down for the night. I noticed at least four canvas paintings of horses in four different houses, and I started to reflect on how much I enjoy living in Kentucky and how fortunate I am to have grown up here. Horses and bourbon are two things Kentucky is known for, and of course the third is the Kentucky Derby (three of my favorite things).
